What is Jubilee Village?
Jubilee Village is a transitional and independent living program for single, formerly homeless mothers between the ages of 17 ½ and 20. The program is designed to holistically address the myriad needs of its residents, many of whom enter the program with histories of domestic violence or other manifestations of family discord, and without financial resources or job skills. Young mothers referred to the program generally require other wrap-around services such as counseling, case management, and parenting classes.
Jubilee Village exists to provide safe, secure housing, experienced mentors, and financial counseling for its residents as they prepare for independent living upon their graduation from the program.
Where is Jubilee Village?
Jubilee Village is located on Executive Drive on the south side of Carol Stream. Our corporate neighbors include TEAM’s guest housing and their corporate offices (The Evangelical Alliance Mission), Hope Publishing Company, and Tyndale House Publishers.
Jubilee Village consists of two multi-family housing complexes — a 17-unit facility named Jubilee Village I, which houses the Transitional Living Program, and a 16-unit facility known as Jubilee Village II, which houses the Independent Living Program.
How can I help?
Each unit at Jubilee Village requires a financial scholarship to sponsor the young families in residence. As the sponsorships are obtained, the units at Jubilee Village change over from tenant occupancy to client occupancy.
The Family Sponsorship commitments fall into three categories:
$2,500 as a “Family Sponsor” for 6 months
$5,000 as a “Family Sponsor” for the entire year
$10,000 as a “Family Sponsor” for one of our “two-family” units for the entire year
Corporate Partnerships:
Jubilee Village currently has Corporate Partners who offer “in-kind” services, such as medical care and landscaping. Jubilee Village needs more Corporate Partners such as painters, auto mechanics, plumbers, electricians, and gardeners!
